Cineflux Symposium: May 19-21, 2011
Description
The Cineflux symposium was organized in 2011 and was hosted in the Bell auditorium at NSCAD’s Fountain campus. The symposium was created to investigate and respond to the sudden technological shifts which had occurred in the modern world between 1990 and 2010. With the 2000s’ tech booma nd the advent of computers, smart phones, and the internet, many long entrenched art forms experienced shifts in working methods with the introduction of digital tools. New art forms such as internet art emerged, as well as new ways of critique, marketing, and dissemination. Cineflux served as a forum to bring many different fields of art together to discuss how practices were influenced by these new working methods.
